Vidur Malik, LMFT
My name is Vidur Malik. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#127957) and a certified Clinical Supervisor. I am also an addiction counselor and trauma therapist. Thank you so much for visiting our website and taking the first step toward the healing you deserve.
My passion is working with people who feel alone, unseen, and unheard.
When we experience life stressors, we often feel alone with them. The daily stress of life can make us feel like a hamster on a wheel with no opportunity to rest. The trauma we all endure throughout life makes us feel cut off from the rest of the world, as if no one gets us. We may even feel like we don’t deserve support in the first place. Friends and family might want the best for us, but the way they try to help can sometimes make us feel more isolated.
I believe that the power of therapy lies in the feeling of being truly seen and heard for who you are. Once you feel the safety that comes with being able to be your true self without fear of judgement, you can build insight on your experiences and discover recurring themes or patterns you’d like to change. Individual counseling and family therapy can help you unlock all your gifts and use them to live a meaningful life.
I’ve had the honor of being an addiction counselor and trauma therapist and supporting teens, adults and older adults who are processing severe trauma, struggling with addictions to substances, and trying to make sense of conditions like depression, anxiety, and OCD. Together, we can help you let go of those feelings of loneliness and isolation so that you can feel real connection – both with those around you and yourself.
As a former high school athlete and professional sports journalist, sports have always been more than just a hobby for me.
I believe sports can be a source of confidence, growth, and connection. However, they can also be a source of anxiety and pressure. I am passionate about doing my part to help athletes overcome these feelings in order to perform at their best.
As a former reporter for Sports Illustrated and several other publications, I have had the privilege of witnessing athletes push the limits of what humans can achieve. Since transitioning to a career as a psychotherapist, I have been inspired by the resilience and strength of my clients. I hope to combine these passions through helping athletes overcome the many obstacles they face, whether they are related to their sport or not.
At Mindful Practices, we are committed to making you a better athlete while caring for you as a whole person.
